So Icon has these really nifty peices of gear call icon cloverleafs. they are (in essance) a kneepad you can strap to ANY set of pants you want.

I have been looking to get a set of riding pants (of a full track suit [$1500!]) to get something with knee pads for I can go have a lot more fun with my riding buddies at night. Looks like I found a much cheaper alternetive (these are about $200)

So you need some strap-on knee pads to go have fun with your buddies at night, huh? Nice.......

lol.

when ppl ask me what I do for fun I tell them: I dress up in leather and go hang out with other dude dressed in leather at night and on the weekends.

gets a pretty good reaction out of ppl, not going to lie.

Haha.... Couldn’t resist!

I’m sure you check craigslist for gear..? I found a nice pair of $400 leather racing pants with pucks and all for $30.. They’d probably only been worn 4-5 times... I was stoked. Although I did take the pucks off cuz enduro...

kijiji (canadian craigslist) is pretty slim pickin for stuff like tht. I MIGHT have gotten a lead on a track suit for 200$, but I need to see if its still there by the time I get back home.

Jeez, for $200 you could buy a pair of actual riding pants with built in knee protection. Then, you’d be in much better shape if you did happen to crash, since riding pants will actually give you some abrasion protection (not to mentiom most also have hip padding to protect that joint as well). Jeans will shred almost instantly upon meeting pavement at high speed.

That’d be my suggestion, at least.

Ah, fair point. I see someone else suggested looking on the used market. I picked up a nice set of leather pants with knee pucks for like $75 off the ADVrider marketplace a few years back.

There’s a site called MotorcycleGear.com that sells overstock and past-season gear at a pretty decent discount, too. They’ve got some AGV Sport leather pants with knee pucks for about $200 .

“ Please Note: We cannot ship AGV Sports products to Canada, Italy or Russia (per manufacturer’s restrictions)

dam it

That sucks. I didn’t notice that part. I wonder why the manufacturer cares where their pants are sold, or if it’s something to do with the laws of those countries.

Or you could save the $200 and just pick your knee up a little bit. Hell, you could even just buy some sliders for $20 and some velcro for $5-$10 and stich the velcro on the pants you have.
